The 3rd edition in 2026 had 728 teams, and the top group, Grupo de Campeones, brings together youth teams of well-known international clubs such as Palmeiras, Saprissa and Club América.

Each age group is further divided into levels such as Grupo de Campeones, Oro, Plata, Bronce and Amarillo, so that teams of a similar level play each other. 🏆 Teams According to the official results platform, the 3rd edition in 2026 had 490 boys' teams and 238 girls' teams, 728 teams in total, playing in 64 groups. International teams included Club América, Atlas and Club Tijuana Xolos (Mexico), Palmeiras (Brazil), Saprissa (Costa Rica) and the Nicaragua U19 women's national team, making 5 participating countries including the USA. The first edition in 2024 also had more than 750 teams. ⏱ Match format The top group, Grupo de Campeones, which brings together the international invited teams, opens first on the first day of the tournament, and the other groups start two days later. Each group plays a group stage, followed by a knockout stage based on the standings. 🏟 Organization Entry is open to teams from ECNL, ECNL RL, MLS Next, GA, DPL, NPL and EA, and college coaches and international scouts visit the venues during the tournament. It is a Stay & Play tournament, so travelling teams must book accommodation through the organizers' travel partner, Athlete Travel. 🌊 About the area Del Mar is a coastal town in northern San Diego known for its beaches and racetrack, and Oceanside and Temecula are part of the same area, within driving distance.

How to enter

Registration for the Club America Cup is taken online on the official website. Registration and payment are handled through the GotSport system; the steps below are based on the 3rd edition in 2026. 1. On the San Diego tournament page of the official website, clubamericacup.soccer, check whether registration is open and the deadline. 2. Decide your team's age division and gender, then submit the application. 11-a-side divisions are based on birth year, and 9-a-side and 7-a-side divisions on school grade. 3. The organizers review the application, approve the team and assign a level (Grupo de Campeones, Oro, Plata, Bronce, etc.). 4. The entry fee is charged at the time of approval. Fees by division are 1,295 dollars for U7–U9, 1,495 dollars for U10–U11 and 1,895 dollars for U12–U19. 5. The entry fee includes a license fee of 5 dollars per team, and a payment processing fee is added: 4.25 percent for card payments and 2.5 percent for eCheck and ACH payments. 6. Travelling teams book accommodation through the organizers' travel partner, Athlete Travel. The organizers state that there are no exceptions to this policy, so please check it before applying. 7.
