Norway Cup has been organized at Ekebergsletta since 1972 by Bækkelagets Sportsklub, a club based in Oslo. The organizers describe it as the world's largest football tournament for children and youth, with players aged 6 to 19. 📅 Schedule · The 2027 tournament runs for eight days, from July 31 to August 7. · Registration for the 2027 tournament opens on September 24. · On the final weekend, Norway Cup Kids is held alongside, with 3-a-side for ages 6–7 and 5-a-side for ages 8–10. 📍 Venue · Matches are played at Ekebergsletta and at several other pitches in Oslo, including Valle Hovin, Rustad, Abildsø and Voldsløkka. · Pitches 7EK11, 26EK11 and 27EK11 at Ekebergsletta are artificial grass, and matches on some pitches are streamed online. ✈️ Airport transfers · The tournament arranges bus and train transport from the airport to the accommodation. · With a participant wristband, Ruter public transport in Oslo zone 1 (bus, metro, tram and island ferries) is free. · During the tournament, bus lines 23 and 34 and tram line 19 run more often, and a dedicated Norway Cup line, NC2, operates. ⚽ Divisions · Boys' and girls' divisions are the same. · 11-a-side: age 19 (born on or after 1.1.2008), 17 (on or after 1.1.2010), 16 (on or after 1.1.2011), 15, and 14 (on or after 1.1.2013). For the 15 division, the official information lists girls born on or after 1.1.2012 and boys born on or after 1.1.2013. · 9-a-side: age 13 (on or after 1.1.2014) and 12 (on or after 1.1.2015). · 7-a-side: age 16 (on or after 1.1.2011), 14 (on or after 1.1.2013), 11 (on or after 1.1.2016) and 10 (on or after 1.1.2017). · The 10, 11 and 12 divisions are open only to teams from Nordic countries, and divisions with too few teams may not run. 🏆 Teams · The number of teams for 2027 has not yet been published. · The organizers state that 2023 set a record with 2,183 teams. · The first tournament in 1972 started with 420 teams and 8,400 participants, and it has been held every year except 1976. · Since it began, participants including players and referees have come from 127 countries. ⏱ Match format · Ages 17, 18 and 19 play 2 halves of 30 minutes with a 5-minute break. · Ages 15 and 16 play 2 halves of 25 minutes with a 5-minute break; ages 13 and 14 play 2 halves of 20 minutes with a 3-minute break. · Ages 10, 11 and 12 play 2 halves of 15 minutes with a 3-minute break; ages 8 and 9 play a single 15-minute period, and ages 6 and 7 a single 10-minute period. · The children's divisions for ages 10, 11 and 12 are given three match days during the week, and match days cannot be chosen. 🏟 Organization · The amounts below are based on the previous edition, for which official information is available. · Entry fees for teams without accommodation are NOK 845 for 3-a-side, NOK 1,445 for 5-a-side, NOK 5,490 for 7-a-side, and NOK 6,200 for 9-a-side and 11-a-side. · Teams that also apply for the A card or H card pay an entry fee of NOK 2,500 per team. · The A card is school accommodation at NOK 3,500 per person and includes 8 nights, meals, public transport, museum entry and a T-shirt. An extra night is NOK 550. · The H card is a 7-night hotel stay run in cooperation with Thon Hotels: NOK 9,500 for a single room and NOK 7,150 per person for double, triple and quadruple rooms. · The registration fee is paid when applying and is not refunded if the team cancels. · About 1,800 of Bækkelagets Sportsklub's roughly 2,800 members and more than 600 people from co-organizing groups take part, with more than 60,000 volunteer hours each year. 🌊 About the area · At Ekebergsletta, where the tournament headquarters is located, there are sponsor stands and various activities, and the participant card gives free entry to museums in Oslo and discounts on activities in and around the city. · Eight girls' teams played at the first tournament in 1972, four years before the Football Association of Norway officially recognized women's football, so the tournament is also called the cradle of Norwegian women's football.
How to enter
Norway Cup accepts team entries through its official registration system, and registration for the 2027 tournament opens on September 24. 1. From September 24, register the team on the registration page of the official website or in the registration system (norwaycup.cupmanager.net). 2. Choose the division for the team's age: 11-a-side, 9-a-side or 7-a-side. The 10, 11 and 12-year-old divisions are open only to teams from Nordic countries. 3. Pay the registration fee when applying. The registration fee is not refunded if the team cancels. 4. Choose accommodation: the A card for school accommodation or the H card for hotel accommodation. Hotel accommodation is only for teams staying for the whole tournament. 5. Pay for participant cards and other services by the deadline given by the organizers. 6.
