The application deadline for the 2027 tournament is November 30, 2026. 📍 Venues The opening event and some matches are held at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Fair Park, Dallas. Rosters are up to 22 players for 13U–19U and up to 18 players for 10U–12U, with 18 players on the match-day list. Club pass players and guest players combined are limited to 7, of which no more than 5 may be pure guest players. A player may not play for two teams. 🏆 Teams The Dallas Cup is invitation-only: each year the organizers select participating teams from several hundred applications. The field is kept at roughly 40% international teams, 40% out-of-state US teams and 20% Dallas-area teams. Over the years, teams from more than 100 countries on 6 continents and from 48 US states have taken part, and the organizers state that more than 900 international players play each year. The number of teams for the 2027 edition has not yet been published. ⏱ Format The preliminary round is played in groups of four, with no extra time and 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. Match length is two halves of 30 minutes for 10U–12U, 35 minutes for 13U–14U, 40 minutes for 15U–16U, and 45 minutes for 17U–19U and the Super Group. In the knockout stage, if a match is tied after regular time it goes to penalties; only the 19U Super Group plays two 10-minute periods of extra time before penalties. Substitutions are made at natural stoppages at the referee's discretion; the Super Group and 15U–19U may name up to 7 substitutes and make up to 6 substitutions per match. 🏟 Organization Invited teams must book hotels for all players, coaches, parents and companions through the official housing agency, Team Travel Source. Teams that do not book at the designated hotels have their invitation withdrawn and cannot get their entry fee back. A long-standing feature of the tournament is the homestay program, in which local teams host international players free of charge; it also runs a Peace Team and diversity programs that bring together Palestinian and Israeli, Catholic and Protestant, and Iraqi young people in one team. Referees are invited through partnerships with referee academies around the world, and more than 50 FIFA referees officiated matches between 2018 and 2022 alone. Attendance during the tournament exceeds 100,000.
