Dana Cup is an international youth football tournament held every July in Hjørring, North Jutland, Denmark. Its official name is Dana Cup Hjørring, and it started in 1982. 📅 Schedule · The 2027 tournament runs for six days, from July 26 to 31. · It opens on the evening of July 26 at 7:30 pm with a parade into Nord Energi Arena. Group matches are played on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by knockout rounds from Thursday to Saturday. · The 7-a-side finals and the A finals of G18-19, G17 and G13 are on Friday; the other finals are on Saturday. · Before the main tournament, a pre-event, Dana Cup Kick Off, is held from July 25 to 26. 📍 Venue · Matches are played on more than 60 pitches. Most are around the central area at Park Vendia in Hjørring, and the 7-a-side pitches are grouped in one area. · The central area has natural grass pitches including Nord Energi Arena, and pitches further away are connected by free tournament buses. ✈️ Airport transfers · The nearest airport to Hjørring is Aalborg (48 km), followed by Aarhus (181 km), Billund (261 km), Copenhagen (468 km) and Hamburg (494 km). · A band and D band participants can book buses between their accommodation and Aalborg Airport, the Frederikshavn and Hirtshals ferry terminals, Aalborg bus terminal and Hjørring train station. There is a fee per person per one-way trip, and the booking deadline is May 1. · Buses from other arrival points can be booked on request. ⚽ Divisions · 2027 boys' divisions: B18-19 (born on or after January 1, 2008), B17 (2010 or later), B16 (2011 or later), B15 (2012 or later), B14 (2013 or later), B13 (2014 or later), B12 (2015 or later) and B11 (2016 or later). · Girls' divisions are G18-19, G17, G16, G15, G14, G13 and G12, with the same birth year rules as the boys. · B12, B11 and G12 are 7-a-side; B16, B14, G16 and G14 have both 11-a-side and 7-a-side; the other divisions are 11-a-side. · Up to 2 players one year older than the age limit may be on the roster, or 1 for 7-a-side teams. · Girls may play in boys' divisions if they meet the age rules. · Players may play for two teams from the same club, but not if both teams are in the same division. All participants must be able to show valid ID. 🏆 Teams · The organizers state that more than 1,000 teams from 45 countries come to North Jutland each year. Confirmed team numbers per edition are not listed on the official website. · Records for the 2026 edition show 946 teams, about 30,000 participants, 56 countries and about 2,600 matches on 62 pitches. There were 300 referees from 15 countries and 3,000 volunteers. ⏱ Match format · Groups of 4 to 5 teams play a round robin. In the second-round knockout, group winners and runners-up go to the A tournament and the other teams to the B tournament. · Match length is 2 x 25 minutes for B18-19, B17, B16, B15 and G18-19, G17, G16, G15, and 2 x 20 minutes for B14, B13, B12, B11 and G14, G13, G12. · 11-a-side teams can use up to 7 substitutes per match; 7-a-side has no limit, and all players may return after being substituted. · Matches are played every day from 7:30 am to 9:30 pm. 🏟 Organization · All participants receive a diploma, and group winners receive a plaque. Teams reaching the A semi-finals and finals receive trophies and medals, and B finalists receive trophies. · Separate awards go to the best player of the A finals, the best visiting club, and the boys' and girls' fair play teams. · Some matches are streamed live. In 2026, matches on 23 pitches, the opening ceremony and all A finals were streamed. 🌊 About the area · Hjørring is a town in North Jutland, Denmark, close to the North Sea. A band and D band participants get free use of the town's swimming pool and museums, the tournament fan zone and disco, as well as discounts at Fårup Sommerland and the North Sea Oceanarium.

How to enter

Registration for Dana Cup is done through the CupManager online system, and costs are split into a start fee and a participation fee. 1. Enter the team details and division on the CupManager registration page. 2. After registering, login details and a start fee invoice are sent automatically by email. Include the invoice number when paying. 3. The start fee must be paid within 7 days of registration. It is a binding amount payable per team. 4. If a division fills up, teams that have registered and paid the start fee have priority, in order of the date the start fee was paid. 5. The 2027 registration deadline is May 1. 6. The participation fee depends on accommodation. Players, coaches and officials staying in school accommodation take the A band; participants not using school accommodation take the D band; accompanying parents and supporters apply for the Dana Cup band. 7. The A band includes tournament entry, three full meals a day from Monday dinner to Saturday lunch, school accommodation, tournament buses, free entry to the swimming pool, museums, fan zone and disco, and discounts at Fårup Sommerland and the North Sea Oceanarium. 8. The D band includes tournament entry, tournament buses to pitches outside the central area, free entry to the swimming pool, museums, fan zone and disco, and discounts. 9. The participation fee and other costs must be paid by May 1, 2027. Extras such as mattresses, special meals and transport are also handled on the login page. 10.
