The Medellín Soccer Cup is an international youth football festival held in Medellín, Colombia. The organiser describes it as the largest youth football festival in Latin America. It is run by Sporturs Colombia. 📅 Schedule The tournament runs for 8 days, from 5 to 12 December 2026. The official schedule published by the organiser is below; the organiser notes that it may change. · 5 December: Arrival of delegations and technical meeting · 6–8 December: Group stage, days 1–3 · 9–10 December: Quarter-finals and semi-finals, Copa Especial final · 11 December: Copa Oro, Plata and Bronce finals and official awards · 12 December: Departure of delegations 📍 Venue Several pitches across Medellín are used. The Estadio Atanasio Girardot sports complex is the main venue; in the previous edition, the official pitches included the Unidad Deportiva de Belén, the Marte 1 and 2 and Campo Amor 1 and 2 pitches at Atanasio Girardot, Belén Las Playas, Cristo Rey and La Floresta. The partner hotels are located in one of Medellín's well-known tourist areas, close to the pitches and with good access to the metro. ⚽ Categories Ten boys' age categories are held, from SUB 7 to SUB 16. Match formats by category: · SUB 16, SUB 15, SUB 14, SUB 13, SUB 12, SUB 11 — 11-a-side · SUB 10 — 9-a-side · SUB 9, SUB 8, SUB 7 — 7-a-side SUB 10 and SUB 11 are further divided into T1 and T2 by level. Under the official rules, boys must play in their own age category, while girls may play up to one year above. 🏆 Participating teams Groups are drawn on a geographical basis. Ties in the standings are broken by goal difference and goals scored, and then by drawing lots. The tournament started in 2010 in Bello, Antioquia, as the 'Copa Antioquia' with 24 teams, and 160 teams took part in 2021 and 2022. According to the organiser's figures, a cumulative total of 1,906 teams and 39,654 players have taken part. The 15th edition in 2025 included teams from six countries besides Colombia: Ecuador, Panama, the USA, Peru, Mexico and Aruba. ⏱ Format · SUB 16, SUB 15 — two halves of 35 minutes · SUB 14, SUB 13 — two halves of 30–35 minutes · SUB 12, SUB 11 — two halves of 25–30 minutes · SUB 10 and below — two periods of 15 minutes and one of 20 minutes In SUB 10 and below, substitutions are unlimited and players may return; in older categories, substitutions are unlimited but players may not return. Every team is guaranteed at least 5 matches. 🏟 Organisation · Official referees at all matches (1 referee for 7-a-side and 9-a-side; a referee and two assistants for 11-a-side) · Drinks at all matches, pre-hospital care (APH) staff on site and ambulance service · Official photography for all categories, a souvenir for every participant and an official match ball for each team All participating teams must choose one of the organiser's accommodation plans. There are more than 40 partner hotels, and the organiser assigns hotels based on group size and circumstances. Founder Diego 'Chiqui' Londoño created the tournament to bring teams from across Colombia to Medellín and to promote the city through sport and culture, and the organiser also runs a social programme that uses part of its income to offer free participation to teams from low-income areas of Medellín. 🌊 About the area Medellín is known as the 'City of Eternal Spring', with spring-like weather all year round. It is often described as one of Colombia's most football-loving cities and is known for the murals of Comuna 13, the nightlife of El Poblado and its modern metro system.

How to enter

Taking part in the Medellín Soccer Cup starts with a free pre-registration. The organiser uses its own management platform, PGI Sporturs, to register players, coaching staff and companions. 1. Pre-registration Pre-register for free on the pre-registration page of sportursinternational.com. After pre-registering, the organiser sends information on costs, including the entry fee. 2. Confirm participation Confirm participation by entering team and delegation details at medellinsoccercup.com/inscripciones/. The registration deadline announced by the organiser is 31 July. 3. Choose an accommodation plan Participating teams must choose one of the organiser's accommodation plans. There are five plans: Superior, Especial, Confort, Medio and Básico; the request states the number of players, coaching staff and companions. 4. Register the delegation Register the player list, coaching staff and companions on the PGI Sporturs platform, and submit the team logo and the team leader's ID. 5. Payment Payment is made by card through the Wompi online payment portal on the website. Card payments may carry a fee. Once payment is confirmed, the organisers confirm participation and place allocation by email and WhatsApp. 6. Player documents For each player, prepare a copy of the birth certificate, a copy of the ID document and a valid health insurance certificate.
