About the tournament

The Porto International Cup is an international youth football tournament held every year just before Easter in the port city of Porto in northern Portugal. Four boys' categories from U11 to U17 play over three days on artificial grass pitches, and clubs from countries including the US, Canada, Spain, France and England have taken part.

The Porto International Cup is an international youth football tournament held in Porto, Portugal's second city. It is organized by O-Sports, which runs sports tours, training camps and sports events in Portugal and Spain, and has been held every spring since its first edition in 2022. The 2027 edition is the 6th. The organizers state that previous editions included teams from the US, Denmark, Canada, Spain, France, England, Ireland, the Netherlands, Haiti, Greece, Nigeria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Portugal, among others. 📅 Schedule · The 2027 edition runs over three days, from Thursday 25 March to Saturday 27 March. · The tournament is held from Thursday to Saturday just before Easter. The 2026 edition was also held just before Easter (5 April), from 2 to 4 April. · Registration closes on 15 February 2027. 📍 Venue · Matches are played at grounds in the city of Porto, all on artificial grass pitches. · The organizers announce the specific pitch assignments before the tournament. ✈️ Airport transfer times · Porto Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is about 15 km from the city centre, a 20-minute drive, and metro line E reaches the centre in under 30 minutes. · From Vigo Airport in Spain it is about 1 hour 45 minutes by car, and from Lisbon Airport about 3 hours. ⚽ Categories · U11: born on or after 1 January 2016, 7-a-side, size 4 ball, two halves of 20 minutes · U13: born on or after 1 January 2014, 11-a-side, size 5 ball, two halves of 25 minutes · U15: born on or after 1 January 2012, 11-a-side, size 5 ball, two halves of 25 minutes · U17: born on or after 1 January 2010, 11-a-side, size 5 ball, two halves of 25 minutes · In all categories, players born between September and December of the previous year can be registered after an age check. · There is no limit on the number of players registered per match. 🏆 Participating teams · The organizers list previous participating clubs including Atlético de Madrid, Panathinaikos, Sporting CP, Paris Saint-Germain Academy, North York Academy and Boavista. ⏱ Format · Matches follow the IFAB and FIFA Laws of the Game. · Boots with metal studs are not allowed, and shin guards are compulsory. 🏟 Organization · There are two accommodation packages: a youth hostel package and a 3-star hotel package. · Packages include return transfers from Porto Airport, 4 nights' accommodation, breakfast, 3 lunches at the venue, 1 dinner at the accommodation, shuttle buses to the venue, player registration, souvenirs, awards for winning teams and best players, participation medals and the tourist tax. · Match schedules and results are published live on the official website. 🌊 About the area · Porto lies where the Douro River meets the Atlantic, and its historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. · Between matches, visitors can explore the Ribeira riverside district and the Dom Luís I Bridge. 2026 was the 5th edition.

Registration is handled directly by the organizer, O-Sports, on the official Porto International Cup website. 1.
