Galway Cup is an international youth football tournament organized by Salthill Devon FC in Galway, in the west of Ireland. 📅 Schedule The previous, 2026 edition was held over five days, from August 4 to 8. The 2027 dates are not yet on the official website, so the August 2027 dates shown are provisional and will be confirmed after the official announcement. It started in 2005 with the aim of bringing international academy football to the west of Ireland; the first tournament had more than 40 teams from 7 countries, and 2026 was the 21st edition. 📍 Venue All matches are played at one venue, NFP Park (Drom Soccer Park, Drom East, Galway, H91 KP79), on 4 full-size pitches. Medical support is on standby during matches, and physiotherapy facilities can be used with advance booking. There is a food and drink area on site. Matches are streamed live online. ⚽ Divisions At the previous, 2026 edition, four age groups were run as six divisions, all 11-a-side. · Boys born 2014 (born on or after January 1, 2014) · Boys born 2013 Elite / Boys born 2013 Club · Boys born 2012 Super Elite · Girls born 2013 Elite / Girls born 2013 Club In the past, the tournament has run boys' U11–U17 and girls' U15 divisions. 🏆 Teams The tournament is limited to 58 teams. Past participants listed on the official website include the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland national teams, Leeds United, Manchester City, Dynamo Moscow, Málaga, Fulham, Sunderland, Celtic, MŠK Žilina, Ipswich Town, Leicester City, Aberdeen, Vålerenga, Cruz Azul, Maccabi Haifa, Charlton Athletic, Shamrock Rovers, Colorado Rapids, Chicago Fire and Shrewsbury Town. ⏱ Match format All matches are 2 halves of 25 minutes. Depending on the format, a four-day schedule guarantees at least 4 matches and a five-day schedule at least 5 matches. Referees are registered with the Football Association of Ireland (FAI). 🏟 Organization The organizer is Salthill Devon FC, and the tournament has its own tournament director. Teams stay at Corrib Village and Goldcrest on the University of Galway campus, mostly in apartments with four bedrooms for five people. Accommodation packages are full board, with three meals a day, or half board, with breakfast and dinner. Packages include shuttle buses between the accommodation and the pitches, on-site staff, and a welcome and check-in on arrival, so teams do not need to arrange their own bus. For families and supporters, Dunlin Village at the University of Galway and the 4-star Ardilaun Hotel are recommended; Dunlin Village offers families of participating teams 20% off the standard rate. Spectator vehicles pay for parking at the NFP Park main gate. Car parks 1 and 2 cost €10 per day, and car park 3, 700 m away, costs €5 per day and is served by a shuttle bus. Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come basis; minibuses, large vehicles and camper vans cannot park on site. The tournament's official charity partner is HopeSpace, which offers free counselling to bereaved children and young people. 🌊 About the area Galway is a university city in the west of Ireland on the River Corrib, known for its festivals, music, performances, restaurants and shops. The popular seaside resort of Salthill is 2 km west of the city center.

Choose an accommodation package Choose between full board and half board. All visiting teams stay in University of Galway campus accommodation. 4. If no accommodation is needed Teams from the Galway area that do not need accommodation should contact the organizers directly to arrange this separately. 5. Getting around during the tournament Shuttle buses run between the accommodation and the pitches during the tournament. 📌 Summary of the registration process · The tournament is limited to 58 teams. · For the 2026 edition, the entry fee was €300 per team for early registration until the end of April and €350 after that, non-refundable. · For the 2026 edition, accommodation at Corrib Village was €390–475 per person half board and €450–540 full board; at Goldcrest it was €405–490 half board and €465–555 full board. · The 2027 dates and prices have not yet been officially announced. · Contact: info@galwaycup.com or +353 87 744 2877.
