Mondial Pupilles de Plomelin is an international U13 football tournament that began in 1986, held at 11 host centres in the Finistère area of southern Brittany, France. In 2027 it reaches its 39th edition for boys and its 12th for girls. 📅 Dates · The 2027 tournament runs for four days, from 6 to 9 May. · Group stages are played at each centre from Thursday (Ascension Day) to Saturday. · On Saturday evening, the boys' round of 16 and the girls' quarter-finals are played. · On Sunday morning, the boys' quarter-finals and the girls' semi-finals are played, followed in the afternoon by a parade and the final rounds. 📍 Venues · The 11 host centres are spread across southern Finistère. · The boys' centres are Combrit Sainte-Marine, Douarnenez, GPGP, Penmarc'h, Plogastel-Saint-Germain, Plomelin, Pluguffan and one further host town. · The girls' centres are Ergué-Gabéric, Quimper and Quimperlé. · The final rounds and the parade of 88 teams take place at the Espace Glazik in Plomelin. ⚽ Categories · Boys: U12·U13, for players born between 1 January 2014 and 31 December 2015. · Girls: U12·U13·U14, for players born between 1 January 2013 and 31 December 2015. · Each squad has 14–16 players and 3 coaches. 🏆 Teams · 64 boys' teams and 24 girls' teams, 88 teams in total, take part. · Each year more than 1,400 young players come from more than 25 countries. · About 20 teams come from abroad, and around 30 are professional clubs, including Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs. · Past participants include FC Metz, FC Nantes, Stade Rennais FC, Olympique de Marseille, Standard Liège, RSC Anderlecht and FC Krasnodar. · The boys' winners were FC Metz in 2026, FC Nantes in 2025 and Standard Liège in 2024. ⏱ Match format · Each of the 11 centres hosts 8 teams for the group stage. · The group stage is 11-a-side, with 7 matches per team, each of two 12-minute halves. · Matches in the final rounds last a single period of 24 minutes. 🏟 Organization · The tournament is organized by Mondial Pupilles de Plomelin, an organization within AS Plomelin. · The tournament grew out of a 1985 match between AS Plomelin and Ajax Amsterdam at a tournament in Clisson; Georges Boulogne, then France national team coach, was its first patron. · Teams stay with host families at each centre, who provide breakfast, dinner and accommodation. · Lunch is provided by the organizers and shared with the other teams in the same group. · The tournament is supported by 836 host families and volunteers at the 11 centres. · Around 20,000 spectators attend over the four days, with more than 6,000 on Sunday alone. · A web TV channel streams some group matches and the whole Sunday programme live. 🌊 About the area · Southern Finistère is a coastal area at the western tip of Brittany, France. · Each centre hosts side events such as face painting, balloon releases, an Olympic-style parade, family meals, evening festivities and sightseeing.
How to enter
For Mondial Pupilles, teams submit an application and the organizers then select the participating teams. The application timeline for the 39th edition in 2027 is as follows. 1. Submit an application — Fill in and submit the online application form published on the official website. 2. Application deadline — Applications are accepted until 30 November 2026. Applying does not guarantee a place. 3. Selection announcement — The list of selected teams is announced around 18 December 2026. 4. Draw — On 5 February 2027 a draw assigns teams to the 11 centres. Before the draw, teams are classified by level to balance the groups. 5.
