About the tournament

The Holland Cup is an international youth football tournament that started in 1986 and is held every year during Easter week. About 300 teams from eleven European countries play in thirteen categories at five sports parks in Almere, 20 km from Amsterdam. It is co-hosted by five local clubs with support from the City of Almere, and all matches are officiated by Royal Dutch Football Association referees.

The Holland Cup is an international youth football tournament held during Easter week in Almere, the Netherlands. First held in 1986, it is a large tournament that brings together about 300 teams from across Europe. 📅 Dates The 2027 tournament runs from 27 to 28 March. Teams arrive on Friday and depart on Monday. · Friday: arrival and check-in in the afternoon; local staff explain the accommodation and tournament arrangements in person. Free evening. · Saturday: matches all day. · Sunday: matches continue with placement matches and finals, followed by award ceremonies at each sports park. In the afternoon, the UEFA Respect ceremony is held and every participating player receives a medal on the podium. Free evening. · Monday: departure 📍 Venue Matches are spread across five modern sports parks around Almere city center. Each sports park has 5 to 8 pitches, a clubhouse with a large canteen, a terrace and ample parking. ⚽ Categories Thirteen categories: boys U09, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U19 and girls U13, U15, U17. 🏆 Teams About 300 teams from across Europe take part. Participating countries are eleven: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, England, Scotland and Sweden. ⏱ Match format After a full day of matches on Saturday, placement matches and finals are played on Sunday. All matches are officiated by referees of the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB). 🏟 Organization The tournament is co-hosted by five local clubs, FC Almere, ASC Waterwijk, Sporting Almere, AS '80 and SC Buitenboys, with active support from the City of Almere. The tournament is run by Euro-Sportring. 🌊 About the area Almere is a city of 200,000 people built on reclaimed land and one of the fastest-growing cities in the Netherlands. It lies 20 km from Amsterdam across the IJmeer, and Amsterdam city center is 20 minutes away by train. Almere itself has one of the largest shopping centers in the Netherlands. In Amsterdam you can explore the canals, historic buildings, museums and markets, the Anne Frank House, Kalverstraat, Dam Square, Leidseplein and Vondelpark, and a canal tour lets you see the main sights in one trip. A tour of the Johan Cruijff ArenA, Ajax's home stadium, is also a popular option.
