Storsjöcupen is an international youth football tournament held every July in Östersund, a town in Jämtland County in central Sweden. Teams from Norway and Sweden make up most of the field, with teams from South America and Asia also taking part, and during the tournament the whole town becomes a meeting place for players, coaches and families. 📅 Tournament dates · The 2027 tournament runs from Tuesday 6 July to Saturday 10 July 2027. · The 8–10 age categories (Lilla Storsjöcupen) play on 6 July. · The 11–19 age categories play from 7 to 10 July. · Team registration opens on 1 September 2026, and referee registration opens in January 2027. 📍 Venues · Matches are played at twelve venues in Östersund and nearby Krokom. · Jämtkraft Arena is Östersund's football stadium with two heated artificial grass pitches, and it belongs to the highest category in UEFA's stadium classification. · Hofvallen has a natural grass 11-a-side A pitch and an artificial grass 11-a-side B pitch. · Hovängen has two artificial grass 11-a-side pitches and one natural grass 7-a-side pitch. · Lövsta has an artificial grass A pitch, a 7-a-side B pitch and a natural grass pitch. · The Torvallen, Sportfältet, Tallvallen, Damplan, Råplan, Åkreäng, Warners and Krokom pitches are also used. ⚽ Categories · Boys' categories are the B11 friendly category, B12–B16 and B17-19. · Girls' categories are the G11 friendly category, G12–G16 and G17-19. · The 8–10 age categories are run separately as Lilla Storsjöcupen on 6 July. 🏆 Participating teams · According to official records for the 2026 tournament, 493 teams took part. · They came from 7 countries: Norway 322 teams, Sweden 162, Mongolia 3, Mexico 2, Argentina 2, Peru 1 and Ukraine 1. · The 2025 tournament had 503 teams from 9 countries. ⏱ Match format · At the 2026 tournament, all 1,368 matches were completed over four days. · Matches were spread as follows: 423 on 1 July, 421 on 2 July, 413 on 3 July and 111 on 4 July. · The 11-a-side matches in G15, G16, G17-19 and B15, B16, B17-19 are streamed via SolidSport in Sweden and other countries, and via Direktesport in Norway. 🏟 Tournament operations · During the tournament, Cuptorget (the cup square) hosts side events such as the opening ceremony, a disco and award ceremonies. · Information on accommodation, shuttle buses and parking, and the medical room is provided on the information pages of the official website. · The official app shows match schedules and results during the tournament. · An official tournament magazine with news and practical tips is published every year. 🌊 About the area · Östersund is a town in Jämtland County in central Sweden, on the shore of Lake Storsjön. · The tournament name, Storsjöcupen, comes from the name of this lake.

How to enter

Registration for Storsjöcupen is done on the team registration page of the official website. Registration for the 2027 tournament opens on 1 September 2026, and there are several payment and registration deadlines before the tournament, so it is worth checking the timeline in advance. 1. Register your team on the official website from 1 September 2026. 2. The team registration deadline is 16 March 2027. 3. Pay the team registration fee by 23 March 2027. 4. Pay the participation fees for players and coaches by 27 April 2027. 5. If you cancel after 1 June 2027, amounts already paid are not refunded. 6. Submit special meal requests by 9 June 2027. 7. Complete registration of the full player list by 5 July 2027. 8. Log in to your team page to update your registration and check payments; questions about tournament rules or age exemptions are also submitted through the team page.
