The Robbie is an international youth football tournament held in Toronto, Canada. Its full name is The Robbie International Soccer Tournament, and it is held in June as a U13–U18 tournament and a separate U8–U12 festival. It started in 1967 in Scarborough, Ontario, and it continues as an annual charity youth soccer tournament. As the dates of the 2027 edition have not yet been announced, the information below is based on the previous edition. 📅 Tournament dates · The 2027 edition is expected in late June, but official dates have not yet been published. · In the previous edition, the U13–U18 tournament ran over four days and the U8–U12 festival over two days, in different weeks. · In the tournament, each team is scheduled at least 3 matches: 2 on day 1 and 1 on day 2. · Quarter-finals are on day 2, semi-finals on day 2 or 3, and finals on day 3. 📍 Venue · Matches are spread across 20 fields in Toronto and nearby Ajax. · Tournament fields include Birchmount Stadium, Monarch Park Stadium, Adams Park, Wexford Park and Ashtonbee Reservoir Park, Clairlea Park, Cherry Beach Soccer Fields, Centennial College Progress Campus, and the upper and lower fields at the University of Toronto Scarborough campus. · Festival fields include Warden Hydro Fields, Bill Hancox, Bridletowne Park, Milliken Mills Park, McCowan District and Timberbank Park. · The tournament address is Birchmount Stadium, 93 Birchmount Rd, Toronto, ON M1N 3J7, Canada. ⚽ Categories · The tournament has five categories: U13, U14, U15, U16 and U17/U18. · Each category is based on players born on or after January 1 of the relevant year. · The festival has U8, U9, U10, U11 and U12 categories; no scores or standings are kept, and every player receives a participation gift. ⏱ Match format · U13 plays 9v9; U14 and above play 11v11. · In the festival, U8 and U9 play 5v5, and U10 and U11 play 7v7. · Group matches, quarter-finals and semi-finals are two halves of 25 minutes for U13 and U14, and two halves of 30 minutes for U15 and above. · Finals are two halves of 35 minutes for U13, 40 minutes for U14, and 45 minutes for U15 and above. · Rosters are limited to 18 players and 4 staff for U13, and 20 players and 5 staff for U14 and above, with no exceptions. 🏆 Participating teams · Based on past records, the tournament has 400 to 460 teams and 6,500 to 7,000 players each year. · Clubs from abroad, including the United States and the Caribbean, also take part. 🏟 Organization · The tournament was founded in 1967 by its founders in the name of Robbie, a three-year-old boy with cystic fibrosis, and for more than 50 years its proceeds have been donated to Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Total donations amount to about 2 million dollars. · Accommodation booking is handled through a booking portal run by the official partner HTG Sports Services. · Applications are processed through GotSport; submitting an application does not confirm participation, as it goes through the organizers' review. · All teams must upload, as PDFs, a travel permit approved by their association and a stamped official player roster. · Roster changes are free or cost 25 or 50 Canadian dollars per change depending on timing, and changes on tournament day cost 100 Canadian dollars at on-site registration. · One hour before the first match on the first day, a team official must collect the approved roster, wristbands and welcome package from the field marshal. · All players and team officials must show a player card with a photo or a passport.

How to enter

Taking part in The Robbie starts with creating a GotSport account and submitting the online application. Please follow the steps below. 1. First read the application terms on the official website and check the participation conditions and acceptance criteria. 2. Submit The Robbie application from your GotSport account. 3. Upload, as PDFs, a travel permit approved by your association and the stamped official player roster for the current outdoor league season. 4. Complete the Robbie event roster in GotSport before your participation is approved. 5. Pay the entry fee: 625 Canadian dollars for early registration, or 700 Canadian dollars for registration after March 1. 6.
